2nd Waikuku Kite Camp Confirmed

The second Landboarding NZ Ltd Waikuku Kite Camp is now confirmed for Friday 10th to Sunday 12th November.

Low tide is around 4:00pm that weekend which will allow a whole afternoon on each day for kiting. There will also be a chance for some more night flying, campfires and general madness & mayhem this second time around.

The plan will be to arrive Friday Afternoon around 3:00pm, (in time for the evening sunet session), and then to have 2 full afternoon sessions on both Saturday & Sunday, wind allowing. Everyone is welcome, boarders, buggiers, surfies, watchers and newbies.

I have booked 2 cabins for the weekend and there are still a few places left. The cost will be $10 per person per night, ($20 for both nights), and first-come-first-served. Alternatively, you can book a tent spot for $8 per person per night is money is tight.

Frenzy07

The 2006 winter season found Ozone founder and kite designer Rob Whittall accompanied by partner in crime and board rider extraordinaire Chasta in the Utah backcountry and across the western US. Rob found that the gusty winds of the Rocky Mountains could be easily tamed by adding more stability to the Frenzy so that any level of rider could enjoy its superior performance, yet he wanted more power per size and desired the Frenzy to deliver that new school feeling for high powered unhooked kite loops…

The result is a new generation of Frenzy that surpass everything we’ve seen and unveils a new standard for Freestyle Kiting. The Frenzy is once again the ultimate ride and remains an undisputed benchmark in kite innovation and quality, opening the doors for everyone to experience this season’s landboarding opportunities. Whatever surface your riding the Frenzy 07 will surpass everything that has gone before it.

Access2

This is the second generation of the hugely successful Access. Changes to the kite include a new plan form and each wing boasts and extra two cells giving the kite more speed and power while retaining very clean wing profile. The speed system has now been up-graded to Amsteel spectra line the same as used on its big brother the Frenzy, and also benefits from having a clam-cleat assembly so now riders can adjust the power whilst riding.

Sizes available this year: 4-6-8 and 10mtr

The Manta

Ozone are always pushing the limits of kite technology, and the Manta was a kite that evolved from the pursuit of perfection during the development of the Frenzy 07 design. Due to its long wing tips and flowing shape the Manta glides thru the sky with speed and lift providing a modern ride for old school fliers like Chasta that go bigger than expected and float longer than necessary above the Earth.
