This is the first website dedicated to the pursuit, progression and promotion of Kite Landboarding in New Zealand.
From this site you will be able to research & buy the equipment you need, find relevent links & articles to get you started, and give you the chance to meet up with like-minded "KGB'ers"
So if you have ever seen someone out flying along the beach with a kite and a board and thought you might want to give it a try, you have come to the right place....
Landboarding NZ Ltd was concieved in late 2005 and came into being as a real live retailer in February 2006.
The purpose behind Landboarding NZ Ltd is to raise awarenes and promote interest in all things associated with Kite Landboarding, or sometimes refered to as KGB for short, (for Kite Ground Boarding)
We are currently based by the beach in Christchurch and get out and ride whenever the wind is onshore at around 10 knots and above.
With the quality beaches & domains we have here in NZ and the availability of wind from most every direction, Kite Landboarding should be as popular as kitesurfing, but for some reason it is not..?
We at Landboarding NZ Ltd believe that the reason for this is due to the very high cost of equipment in New Zealand that hinders participation, particually in the 16-25 year old age range.
Some NZ kite retailers are more focused on Kite Surfing as their primary business and only sell Landboards and foil kites as a side line. These shops generally sell a customer a kite & board package based around what stock they have in their shop at the time or whatever brands they are associated with. Consequently the customer can be looking at over $2,000+ for a board and kite combo, just to get started in Landboarding.
Here at Landboarding NZ Ltd, we ONLY sell Landboarding equipment and want to get you up and running for less, depending on your ability range.
In the UK & USA the Kite Landboarding scene is very large and active and our intention is to dedicate ourselves to make it as popular here in NZ, and put people with similar interests in touch with each other, provide access to reasonably priced equipment, and build the sport from the grassroots.

Pricing Policy - Landboarding NZ Ltd believes that it can match any price for comparable equipment, from any other New Zealand retailer. If you find something at another retailer for less, let us know and we will do what we can to match it.
