The
Landboarding NZ Ltd
"Waikuku Kite Camp"

Friday 14th to Sunday 16th December 2007
The 4th Waikuku Kite Camp, sponsored by Landboarding NZ Ltd, is planned for Friday 14th to Sunday 16th December 2007.
Waikuku is a beautiful seaside village, 30km north of Christchurch on State Highway 1, and is well worth the trip for the stunning beach and surrounding lagoon, marshes and mountain views. [Map] With an onshore wind we will have 12kms of uninterrupted smooth hard sand to use and a 6 hour window from before and after low tide.
This is your opportunity to come along to one of New Zealand's premier land based kiting events and meet up with other keen Landboarders and Buggiers, plus fly a selection of Ozone & Flexifoil demo gear. We also hope to have our resident wind expert from Howisit.co.nz with us this year with his portable windstation.
The tides for Saturday & Sunday are perfect for mid afternoon riding, (see below) and also for those of you that can make it on Friday afternoon too. As is the tradition, Landbaording NZ Ltd will be providing a BBQ & a few beers fro those that stick around, and there will also be the usual opportunity for some night flying, campfires, fire poi, midnight frisbee and the usual foolishness associated with these events.
Tides
Friday 14th December 14:46 (Ride time from: 11:46am to: 17:46pm)
Saturday 15th December 15:31 (Ride time from: 12:31pm to: 18:31pm)
Sunday 16th December 16:17 (Ride time from: 1:17pm to: 19:17pm)
As we will be bringing some beer and providing a BBQ for an evening meal, all you will need to bring is your kite gear, bedding and any extra food and drink you require.....
We will be initially pre-booking 2 cabins with 9 places available on a first-come-first-served basis, (we may book another 5 bunk cabin if the interest is there). The cost for a bed in the cabins will be $12.00 per person per night, ($24 for both nights), and the first 9 people to contact me by email/PM and commit the money will get the spaces.
Alternatively, there are non-powered pitches for those that come by camper van, and for the really brave you can get a tent spot for around $9 per night if money is tight.
Although this is advertised as a land based kiting event, everyone is welcome, boarders, buggiers, surfies, watchers, and anyone thinking of getting into kiting.
Show your support for the NZ land kiting scene and come along....
